Manuel Pellegrini may have completed his search for Andy Carroll’s replacement, with Football Ghana reporting that West Ham are tracking Sparta Prague’s Benjamin Tetteh.
What’s the word?
Tetteh only joined the Fortuna Liga side in the summer when he completed a switch from FC Bohemians Prag, but has netted nine goals in 19 games since, which have often been the deciding factors in matches.
The 21-year-old’s debut goal came in his third fixture under Zdenek Scasny, and helped his side to a 1-0 win over Slovacko, before further strikes found the net against Dukla Prag, Banik Ostrava, and Slovan Liberec.
His nine goal tally is already the best seasonal return throughout his brief career that started with Standard Liege in 2015, where he scored twice in 17 games – his previous best return for a single season came last year with two in 20.
The former Ghana Under 20s international’s form has attracted the interest from West Ham, along with fellow Premier League sides Everton, Bournemouth and Wolves, while Super Lig giants Galatasaray are claimed to have seen an €8million (£7.1m) bid rejected last week.
Instead, Sparta Prague are holding out for €12million (£10.6m), and Football Ghana expect Galatasaray to raise their offer in the coming days.

The Irons’ new Andy Carroll
With the Ghanaian standing at 6 foot 4, he could come in at the London Stadium and instantly fill the role set aside for Carroll, whose contract at the Irons is due to expire in the summer.
The former Liverpool striker has never hit double figures for the Claret and Blues, and has been a constant injury concern since his move to East London – altogether, Carroll has missed 1,161 days through injury, amassing to 142 games.
The signing of Tetteh would not only offer Pellegrini a player with a similar kind of build, but also remove the injury concerns as the 21-year-old has only ever missed a month at most through muscular or ankle injuries.
Tetteh has also been likened to Chelsea legend Didier Drogba, thanks to playing in a similar manner to his idol.
