Scott Sinclair has officially left Celtic and joined Preston North End following a glowing three and a half year spell in the Scottish capital.
The flying winger enjoyed some of the best years of his career down the left hand side of Celtic’s attack, weaving, darting and conspiring to embarrass his opposite number with speed and flair.
His departure was hardly surprising given the manner in which he faded into obscurity under Neil Lennon this season as he played just 17 minutes of SPFL football before his sale, but that hasn’t stopped fans, pundits and players from paying tribute to the 30-year-old.
He leaves Paradise with an eye catching return of 62 goals and 34 assists in 167 games for the club, with the majority of his best form coming from the left wing.
The partnership he formed with Kieran Tierney down the left side was fundamental to his success during some glorious years under Brendan Rodgers, and it was no surprise to see the former Celtic star offering Sinclair his best wishes for the future.
Indeed, the Arsenal full-back sent a message to his former partner in crime via his Instagram story on Thursday evening.
With Preston aiming to return to the Premier League via the playoffs this season, the two players could well find themselves facing up against each other in the 2020/21 campaign.
For now, though, Celtic fans will be left reminiscing over a thriving left-sided partnership that was unrivalled in Scottish football once upon a time.
