Leeds United were on top form on Saturday.
Indeed, their win against Bristol City was described by Graham Smyth as a battering, and they had 68 per cent of the possession.
However, for all the praise we can give Leeds for their performance, the fact of the matter is that they still only won 1-0.
Of course, you’d take a 1-0 win every day of the week, but United’s dominance warranted a bigger win.

The Whites have had a problem with putting the ball in the net all season. They’re severely underperforming their xG, but perhaps one of their biggest issues comes from the manager himself.
Marcelo Bielsa has quite clearly set up his team to attack down the wings – Leeds have delivered more crosses per game than any other team in the Championship, but the stats from Saturday show that this isn’t an effective tactic.
While Leeds may deliver a lot of balls into the area, not many of them find their mark. Jack Harrison and Helder Costa provided 17 between them against Bristol, but only four found a teammate, meaning that their success rate is just 23.5 per cent.
The deliveries that did reach their target didn’t lead to much either, as neither Costa or Harrison could provide an assist against the Robins.
Exploiting the flanks is a valid option, but it seems as though Bielsa’s side aren’t making the most of the opportunities that the wingers are carving out.
Perhaps it’s time for the Argentine to look towards some alternative options, whether that’s encouraging his players to cut inside more often or asking them to find short simple passes. These continuous crosses are proving futile and they have to stop.
